Former Employee - Postdoctoral

I worked at UC Santa Cruz full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great campus, infrastructures and services

Cons

It can be very dead during the summer because the campus is very isolated

Former Employee - Vet Tech

I worked at Santa Cruz Biotechnology full-time for more than a year

Pros

Pay Beautiful facilities Nice horses

Cons

Manager is a psychotic narcissist who manipulates others into doing her job while she takes the credit. She will call you names and belittle you. She has the owners believing the place can’t... operate/function without her LOL. The only plus is the manager is there maybe 20 hours a week so you rarely have to deal with her. So many horses can’t walk due to foundering. When horses are of no use anymore they get sent to the “big cat farm”. Way too much suffering going on at that place. Animal abusers at its finest. If you love drama and are desperate for a decent paycheck then this is the place for you! Glad I left when I did. This place is a nightmare!
