Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Web International English full-time

Pros

Always paid on time Pretty flexible about time off Line Manager fair

Cons

Learning methods and material old fashioned Professional work tends to go unnoticed

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Pagoda Academy full-time

Pros

Pay on time, good co workers, good students (for the most part), can vary lesson content, autonomy in class (as long as the students don't complain). Good starter company for those wanting to teach... adults and have had enough of spoilt kids.

Cons

Long, long exhausting working hrs. You can have some days where you work 10 hrs a day, some with just 4, but all have dreaded split shifts(7am-10pm) and 2 saturdays(9-5) a month. Absolutely... destroying any social life you may want to have outside of the academy. The owner is a bit notorious, having been arrested and there is a weird cultish element to the whole thing (the company is connected to some bizarre religious group). very little housing support and Seoul is expensive so it can take a good chunk of your salary (especially if you live in Gangnam)

Advice to Management

Look, the place isn't so bad if you know what you're getting into, so I felt the managers always had the best intentions but were a bit restricted by company policy.
