Featured Review

Current Employee - Technician

I have been working at Western Power Distribution full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

- Great working atmosphere - Good pay - Most staff have a "can do" attitude

Cons

- Management don't listen to staff suggestions - Staff that are "difficult" get away with murder and are not addressed - You get loaded up with work if you show initiative - Guilty until proven... innocent culture

Advice to Management

Distribute work to people that aren't busy instead of letting them get away with doing nothing

Current Employee - Customer Facing

I have been working at PowerShop full-time for less than a year

Pros

Working here has been life changing not only for me but for many people that I speak with. The team is small so you feel like you really know everyone. Constructive criticism and feedback is... acted on when given; regular feedback opportunities and surveys with results communicated back. Regular development opportunities and new jobs becoming available. Clear channels of communication between everyone in the business. Customer Service, Operations, Managment and all other teams spend time together socially and in the work environment. Genuine care for colleagues. Very versitile - currently working from home due to COVID-19 pandemic and nothing has changed too much.

Cons

Still feels like a new company at times; some key foundations of the operational day to day are noticeably missing. Salary is basic for customer facing staff. Lower than industry averages.

Advice to Management

Keep up the communications and conversations with front line staff. Look at ways to effectively build more solid operational processes that don't change every few weeks.
