How is management perceived at ALDI?
Pros
Benefits galore for a low paying job. I imagine a place better managed would've provided two days off in a row for its workers. ALDI gives you a schedule and you work it and the morning shifts are the best. Get a morning shift, get two days off in a row, the SAME two days off in a row every week, and boom, you could've had 5 stars out of me.
Cons
Unfortunately, they only get 4 stars because of all that management training and schooling ALDI pays for to get these young, good looking guys to make six figures and wear a suit while you ring up the public 38-42 hrs a week for not even close to that, meh... Rant aside, you get good benefits and can work something out with management with your life schedule and have a great time and learn a ton, but it really is up to your manager, and the point about the men and women in suits is that you'd think they would know how to teach their managers to provide such a philosophy of life for their workers. You can get benefits by working only three days a week. This may have changed, but sheesh, the company really is amazing, it is simply aggravating that they could be even better but get 3/4 of the way there and seemingly go, "This is enough. Stop with the polishing about here." It is a little bit of a shame.
Advice to Management
Read my above comments. Don't stretch employees end to end. You guys have large communities and people willing to work the odd hours and odd shifts. Break the people up on the front register so they don't burn out, actually honor the hour long break instead of whittling it down to 30 mins for insane reasons, install working windows in the break rooms so we aren't sitting next to the public toilet trying to eat with no windows yet a shared vent with the toilet. Seriously, whoever designed Weaverville and then renovated it without installing a WINDOW that WORKS is just either cruel or grossly negligent with no gray area in between, that goes for the entire team of designers, builders, and executive responsible for that area being built that way and the diminutive breaks.
