Does ALDI offer dental insurance?
Very grateful for the full time hours and the benefits are pretty sweet. I pay about 35 dollars out of each paycheck for a great vision, medical and dental plan. Paid vacation is accrued relatively rapidly and they also offer paid sick/personal days which is huge. If you dont mind hard work, this is the job for you. You are constantly working on something and there is always something to do. Time flies by and, before you know it, your shift is over.
Like I said in the pros, it is hard work. A lot of lifting and moving. Sure, you get to sit while you're ringing, but if you're not ringing, you're moving. This can be hard on your body if you're not careful. Also, if you're not a morning person, then you won't like waking up to start your shift at 5 or 6am depending on where you live.

Does ALDI offer parental leave?
ALDI generally has a great work life balance with the exception of a few teams, competitive base salaries, and is growing very quickly. It’s a great job if you are content with the role you are hired in to and do not have an appetite for progression. It’s also a recession-proof business that has not historically been the type of organization to restructure and engage in layoffs, so there is as much job security as one could hope for here. Pay includes annual increases above a COLA each year on anniversary dates, and vacation days offered are a good amount.
There are not clear career paths for all employees unless you started as a district manager. If you did not come up through the district manager program, becoming a director eventually through internal promotion isn’t possible as of today, unless hired into that position directly. Because of this, often there are skilled managers who were external hires, in more focused areas of the business, with advanced degrees and years of industry experience, who get passed over by younger and less experienced people because they were DMs for a few years. Benefits are below average. The health/dental insurance is fine, but the 401k includes an extremely long vesting schedule, and there is no work from home policy or parental leave policy, so many younger people with growing families end up having to take unpaid time off. Culturally they are modernizing over time, but if you come from a laid back culture you will feel the conservative, hierarchical atmosphere immediately.
If you want to truly compete in the future, you can’t rely on DMs to compete with professionals that are specializing with your competitors. Operationally, DMs have immense knowledge, but outside perspectives with unique talents are going to help modernize your business. By not creating a career path for talented analysts and managers, these people have no incentive to stay for the long term unless they value job security only.
