What is health insurance like at Alamo Rent A Car?

Pros

The Co-Workers are good people to work with. Health Coverage is better than average.

Cons

The guy at the top is very greedy. He's always looking for a way to pay us less money. I've worked at this company for a long time and every year it gets worse. Every year we get a pay reduction. This year was the worst. Our pay was reduced by about 40% this year. The guy at the top said, "Cry me a river." He said that we are lucky to have jobs. This isn't the worst job I've ever had, but it used to be the best job I ever had, but every year it gets worse.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Alamo Rent A Car?

Pros

Good pay, even better if you can meet some sales quotas. Most products are easy to learn so it doesn't take long before you can jump into the Rental Agent sales role.

Cons

Minimum to no training, most of it is shadowing other Rental Agents. Management is always a mess and different managers have completely different expectations of their employees. Always understaffed and managers rarely jump in to help with long customer lines.

What is the feeling of job security at Alamo Rent A Car?

Pros

The pay is what keeps you striving to sell as much as you can. I do believe this may only apply to the large locations.

Cons

Managers don't all agree with "rules" some customers are allowed to break the rules when other customers aren't. Same applies for high selling rental agents being allowed to break rules that normally would result in being fired if the employee were only just making their tiers.

Advice to Management

Set standards and rules and enforce them. Don't pick and choose, this causes customers to backtalk employees who are only following the rules. If you expect employees to all be on the same page keep their rules the same as well. Don't allow the high sellers to lie and cheat which are a direct violation of our company ethics.
