What is health insurance like at Amazon Flex?

Pros

Coworkers are friendly and you work independently

Cons

Pay is awful($16.00 hrly) The company advertises a pay scale of $45k+ a year and this is completely false. 5, 10 hr days, delivering packages at no less than 150 stops per day more commonly 200 stops a day and 250+ packages. Health insurance is the bare minimum required by law so no employee benefits. The company has given and removed raises 3 times in 1.5 years to all employees for the benefit of ownership. The offered “paid training program” is a joke. Fedex and UPS have a proven training program that works..I’d say go to either of these companies..awesome benefits, retirement, insurance and pay!!

Advice to Management

Treat and pay your employees well, don’t expect more than you are willing to do. Give them benefits that matter.

Does Amazon Flex offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Choose your own blocks and work whenever you want. Choose your pick up station. Pay is $18-$22 an hour.

Cons

No gas/mileage reimbursement. Most blocks go into nighttime hours of the day. Warehouse personnel are mostly rude and slow.

Advice to Management

Have one person check everybody in as they arrive and check number of hours they have and convey this information to warehouse people so they can have the carts ready to deliver immediately. Don’t make flex drivers do routes where there is no or bad cellphone service!

No gas/mileage reimbursement.

Does Amazon Flex pay for professional licenses?

Pros

They pay twice a week. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Cons

There is no help when something goes wrong. The email team is just bots, their call center is full of regular people sitting at home. They hang up on you when they don't have the answers. They shut my app down randomly, and refused to pay me for my shifts. They're holding $118 from me because they misread my drivers license. After they situated the issue, they still have my account locked mistakenly.

Advice to Management

Get real employees. Get real leadership. You can't just create an App, and then essentially allow it to run an entire business on it's own.

They're holding $118 from me because they misread my drivers license.

Does Amazon Flex offer housing assistance?

Pros

Delivering is fun and easy

Cons

Packages that are late or about to be late within the first hour or two of your block. Long drive times to first deliveries which may cause late packages. I take later blocks and several times businesses were closed and I was unable to deliver which impacts your standing. Difficulty accessing buildings, apartment complexes, or housing complexes if gate codes not provided which then causes a package to be undeliverable and impacts your standing. Lack of updated instructions from customers or if you have a tech issue or car issues that impact delivery your standing gets impacted. Also multiple emails about the above matters to support are met with automated messages which feels like no one cares enough to consider what is happening in the real world.

Advice to Management

Have human beings answer your emails and have someone in management test the drives to see where improvement needs to be made.

Difficulty accessing buildings, apartment complexes, or housing complexes if gate codes not provided which then causes a package to be undeliverable and impacts your standing.

Amazon will hire anyone that applies for a warehouse job, bad house management leaders and immature ambassadors that that has no rights being in that position. They don't try to help you as they should be doing. They need to weed out the associates that don't work and stand around talking.
