Does Arcadia offer employee discounts?

Pros

You get a good staff discount and can wear your own clothes and style. The girls that I work with that are at my level (sales assistants) are all really friendly but you never know who you're going to work with.

Cons

-Staff discount is a credit card and it makes it stressful having to worry about paying off something I didn't really want. -Really difficult to get holiday time off even if you let them know in a lot of advance. -My rotas are never consistent and I'm on a four-hour contract so a majority of my work is weird hours of overtime. -The rotas are never done, supposed to have 4 weeks of rotas available but usually only have 1. -Managers of the store are unapproachable about issues and have a go at you for phoning in sick even though you genuinely are and guilt trip you to come into work even though you're ill. -Customers are rude and you aren't allowed to stand up for yourself you just have to stand there and take verbal abuse. -Internet order rules are constantly changing so we get told off for doing something wrong that we didn't even know about. -I've been put in for a shift on a day that I booked off and because obviously, I didn't show up because I booked it off it was apparently my fault bc I didn't see it in the rota and it's my duty to let them know and was recorded as a no show. -Pressured to get lots of MasterCard store card accounts and if we don't we get moaned at even if we ask every customer. -Mangers and higher level staff are hypocrites it's one rule for us and another rule for them, Theyre allowed to stand around and chat but as soon as I'm talking even whilst working just for 5 minutes I get told off. Higher level staff are allowed to be rude to me even on personal levels and if I am rude back or stand up for myself it becomes store gossip and you get called into the office as if youre a naughty school child. Only reason I haven't quit sooner is because I need the money while being a student and it's hard to get settled into new retail jobs and they're pretty much the same.

Advice to Management

Treat your staff with the same respect you expect. Be kinder, friendlier and more approachable. Be more organised with rotas so that people can actually get off the time they ask for and have our rotas in advance. Head office needs to choose the rules and policies in the store and STICK TO THEM.
