Pros

Really really really really bad company

Cons

I've never worked for such a ill managed disgusting company. Area managers haven't got a clue what there doing. Constant mistakes are being made what affect us all. I've never seen a member of staff be disaplined no matter what they have done, this has created lazy colleagues who take the mic out of those who work hard. Nothing stays confidential, other stores know everyone's business thanks to gossiping area managers. Really awful company. Horrible pay, minimum wage for all that hard work its pathetic.

Advice to Management

Please please just retain your area managers

Pros

I have now left the business as a Maintenance Technician. I did enjoy some aspects of my time at Arcus, such as the courses we were enable to enroll on and my Manager/Supervisor was a great guy to work for. I left a review to this effect at the time, over 2 years ago, and someone has now responded to my review which has prompted me to add a fresh review.

Cons

I left the business for better pay and better hours. One of my suggestions on my previous review was more listening groups. However, my final memory of the business was that when some minor gripes and issues were forwarded to the listening group administrator at a later point, the response was incredible. Instead of hearing our points and suggesting reasons why certain items could or could not be addressed, our technician team was made to feel as though we had done something terrible by raising ANY issues. Senior management got involved and the overriding sentiment was, "What the hell is going on in that department", as though we had no right to raise any issues at all! That is a VERY poor response from a so called listening group. Instead of going through the motions of having listening groups, the management would do well to actually listen to the concerns of their Technicians and attempt to address them, rather then belittle them, which I would suggest encourages staff to seek employment elsewhere.

Advice to Management

Your staff are EVERYTHING, and that includes your Technicians. Listen to their concerns and make GENUINE, efforts to address those concerns.

I left the business for better pay and better hours.

Pros

Salary was good for role but not when factoring in workload.

Cons

Workload is ridiculous. Turnover of staff is high for same reason and they take on more projects and just add it to your already overflowing load - they never hire to cover extra work run. They accept the turnover and then don’t understand why they can’t backfill - reputation in the industry isn’t good.

Advice to Management

It’s not all about the pennies, hire enough people in support functions so you’re not burning people out all the time.

Advice to Management

We will need additional space soon at the rate we are expanding
