Why do Arcus FM employees quit?

Pros

I have now left the business as a Maintenance Technician. I did enjoy some aspects of my time at Arcus, such as the courses we were enable to enroll on and my Manager/Supervisor was a great guy to work for. I left a review to this effect at the time, over 2 years ago, and someone has now responded to my review which has prompted me to add a fresh review.

Cons

I left the business for better pay and better hours. One of my suggestions on my previous review was more listening groups. However, my final memory of the business was that when some minor gripes and issues were forwarded to the listening group administrator at a later point, the response was incredible. Instead of hearing our points and suggesting reasons why certain items could or could not be addressed, our technician team was made to feel as though we had done something terrible by raising ANY issues. Senior management got involved and the overriding sentiment was, "What the hell is going on in that department", as though we had no right to raise any issues at all! That is a VERY poor response from a so called listening group. Instead of going through the motions of having listening groups, the management would do well to actually listen to the concerns of their Technicians and attempt to address them, rather then belittle them, which I would suggest encourages staff to seek employment elsewhere.

Advice to Management

Your staff are EVERYTHING, and that includes your Technicians. Listen to their concerns and make GENUINE, efforts to address those concerns.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Arcus FM?

Pros

Infastructure, support, personal development and training, technical information and training, learning pathways, management support, supportive HSQE teams, supply chain systems, internal systems, IT systems and support, innovation, continuously improving services, fantastic communication throughout all areas of the business, great listeners, contact and availability of management team superb, very much a listening company and encourage interaction, freedom to deliver and empowered throughout your daily working life to deliver!

Throughout my time thus far? None!

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Arcus FM?

Pros

I was employed as Head of Business Development and Bid Management at Arcus for 2 years. Arcus is a business that is very different to their competitors. They deliver an innovative, forward thinking service to their existing clients and are looking to build creative solutions for future clients which was backed up by some key strategic contract wins and the company winning the FM Contractor of the Year award at the 2019 Construction News Awards. It was a pleasure working at Arcus and would recommend the business to anyone who is looking to join a progressive, forward thinking company.
