How was the interview at Arm?

Pros

Very friendly interview process and team behind the scenes Really passionate people in interview about what they do New offices are busy and modern with activity and innovation

Cons

Distortion of the truth is unethical and very dishonest Treat people and their circumstances with fairness Don’t offer jobs and then withdraw when people resign or turn down offers this impacts people’s offer. Don’t offer to find alternate employment in organisation when withdrawing offer when candidate has to to do all the work. Manage people’s expectations and don’t ask them for salary level before interview and then offer something slot lower.

Advice to Management

Offer was made, withdrawn after turning down offers, no contract arrived and despite numerous contact was told it was held up with HR team. Turns out they were carrying out redundancies and offered my role that I was given internally. I totally understand this happens but how I was dealt with was appalling and not very in line with their principals. Make sure recruitment team and company structure are aligned with their demand for new resources. Don’t pressure people into meetings with no context or preparation when delivering bad news especially when they haven’t joined it was in humane. When you promise to help people find another role when you withdraw it make sure you actually follow up on promises.
