Does Balfour Beatty have a pension plan?

Pros

When the correct senior management was in place this was a great place to work, decent salary, pension and holiday package. Everyone knew their role and the senior management team was experienced in the work being carried out, resulting in a great understanding of problems which might be encountered on site and full support in the workplace.

Cons

Senior management team gradually replaced with 'yes' men (and women) who didn't have the experience needed to carry out the role, resulting in bad decisions being made at the highest level and contracts being 'panic managed'. Loss of support on site and eventual massive redundancies due to cost cutting. When the redundancy process started, us employees quickly realised that we weren't viewed as people, we were merely numbers which could be easily disposed of. I personally know of several instances where middle management were suffering from depression due to the situation, and were summarily 'made redundant' in order that they were no longer a burden to the company. One manager in particular was treated so badly by the company (in his own family's opinion), that he sadly gave up the will to live and he died worrying about whether or not he still had a job to return to. Despite these instances being reported at CEO level, the company refused to accept the facts regarding what was going on, and tried to make out that the problem was merely a difference of opinions. Subsequently no action was taken by the company in order to prevent this from happening again in the future. At least 4 instances were reported!!

Advice to Management

No advice that I could give would ever take the company back to it's former (successful) state, and a complete ignorance of the truth at CEO level just means that the practice of disposing employees who are suffering from mental illnesses such as depression, will simply just be allowed to continue.
