How is management perceived at Cinesite?

Pros

Cinesite has wonderful team orientation for such a large company. The artists are hard workers and very talented

Cons

The management of the company is lacking, especially in terms of team fulfillment and respect. It's hard to feel valued in the company, and upper management does not encourage internal learning or growth

Advice to Management

It would be helpful to offer more training opportunities to new hires, especially in terms of the work software. Many have to learn under trial by fire, and the knowledge gained on the job often feels lacking. Additionally, there seems to be not many opportunities for internal growth, as the company turns over employees very quickly rather than trying to keep internal candidates

The management of the company is lacking, especially in terms of team fulfillment and respect.

What is the company culture like at Cinesite?

Pros

There's an overall good company culture - no bullying, no overtime (unless you have a special client), bosses are there everyday and very approachable, small enough so everyone knows everyone, large enough to be diverse. Pipeline is very nice and you get support from the team immediately.

Cons

There is not much space to grow or climb up the ladder, you get the occasional supervisors who mismanage the projects and cause a lot of waste of time and chaos. Some projects they get are not great. It' in a basement.

Advice to Management

You should be more serious how you deal with supervisors and leads who mismanage projects rather than keeping them on board for extensive periods.

There's an overall good company culture

What is the salary like at Cinesite?

Pros

- some friendly artists - pay standard vfx salaries

Cons

- very cliquey, which helps protect mediocre supervisors/leads - had to be taken to court by bectu to pay out for people they screwed over - willful lack of knowledge on industry practices by those in charge - awful work, all they do is pick up work other vendors have done and pixel push - juniors: worked/bullied into staying late, have nothing to show for on your reel. you will learn nothing as the people in charge of you are incompetent - seniors: micromanagement from incompetent leads/supervisors, staying long enough will dull your skillset - office filled with sewage/flooding/mice

Advice to Management

No point, the clique/incompetence is ingrained here, also leads/supervisors promising jobs to females juniors for favors. HR is also in the clique.
