Does Countrywide plc have a pension plan?

Pros

Career progression is great within head office. The teams are great, friendly and approachable. You do make friends for life at Countrywide!

Cons

That there is no company pension for all employees, only to senior management. The pay in some areas needs to be more in line with the current market.

Advice to Management

Don't stop pushing your employees to go as far as they can, continue to believe in them and give them as much confidence as they need to succeed.

Does Countrywide plc assist with or provide work transportation?

Pros

They pay you some money. Company car, or car allowance that might pay for half a car. It's relatively stress free hour to hour, so one can have a long, even liquid, lunch. Or celebrate POETS day everyday.

Cons

There are unbearably dreadful conference calls to have to sit through. The fact that in the year 2021 management still think employees are motivated by hearing the success, or lack thereof, of others speaks volumes about how forward thinking and proactive management are. And if course ultimately it's a sales job so there are targets. Targets that management haven't (possibly ever) had to hit for a while, targets that don't change as the market does. Targets that have the same outcome and weighted expectation if you're helping previous customers remortgage, or if you're new scrapping around for business.

Advice to Management

No. Stop. Change. Stop charging customers a fee. It's laughable when there are a plethora of free mortgage or financial advisors one can frequent. Also look at mid-level management and ask - what are these people bringing to the table? A salary cost, sure. How does their employment actually seem to be helping front line advisors? Because in my experience, they didn't. They just floated around, offering promises to help but never following through.

Does Countrywide plc offer employee discounts?

Pros

retail benefits and discounts for employees employees and being able to train your own teams

Cons

concerns were not taken seriously at this company. If you are willing to knock others down unnecessarily on your way to the top you will go far. However, if you have integrity and sincerity and want to genuinely progress because you really care about what you do you wont stand a chance! Upper management do not care about you or the complaints you raise to them about what could have been considered bullying in the workplace. No follow up and no care given to this issue. Lies are told by management so you have to make sure absolutely everything is followed up in writing so you have a trail of what has been said or agreed. Poor tactics and poor treatment of staff has really led to the loss of some truly amazing employees in the business. I have seen many people leave the company who were amazing but just didn't want to put up with all the horrible practices any more

Advice to Management

be better at supporting staff and taking action
