What kind of career opportunities exist at Encore Estate Management?

Pros

Great people to work with and the training on offer is really good if you are accounts or property management. Work/life balance wasn't great until covid but with the opportunity to work from home more this has improved.

Cons

Not great commnication from "The Top". Not much training on offer for employees that don't work within accounts of property management.

Advice to Management

Be more transparent and less secretive. Communicate with your employees.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Encore Estate Management?

Pros

This company does so much to try and keep their staff happy and although they will never please everyone they largely do a good job. Excellent training opportunities, support for professional qualifications, flexible working patterns for those juggling work and family commitments and a pretty good set of benefits such as additional leave, staff reward schemes, great social activities and a monthly staff buffet.

Cons

Well everyone would probably like a higher salary but they seem to keep up with the industry averages pretty well.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing but make sure you engage with your staff - they are your biggest and best asset.

Are transfers to other offices possible with Encore Estate Management?

Pros

Fast-paced. Different work daily.

Cons

When I first started I really enjoyed the role and learning new things, to Encore's testament within Operations you have to do a bit of absolutely everything and whilst you feel slightly overworked and under pressure (because you're just expected to know things that you've never done before) it was enjoyable learning something new each day. The skills I gained during my time at Encore have helped me to secure employment that I do not believe I would have been as good at beforehand. My issue was the culture of the workplace, you are stretched to your absolute limit, given tasks to do that are way beyond your knowledge level and paygrade and being backed up by not given any training or any praise about the job you're doing. I have now released since gaining new employment that daily stress and tears from being treated like an idiot by the so called 'manager' (I use that term very loosely) is not a normal occurrence and actually you can be happy at work. Please note that this is just a personal reflection of my experience, I am sure that I was one of only few people who the manager put down and constantly watched over like a hawk. When I left most of my self-worth had been slowly chipped away. If Encore focused more on the people aspect and acknowledge that constantly putting down/belittling whilst not training people to do the job properly then I think this would be a good place to work. Remember Encore - we are not robots! My review is limited to my experience with only a few people, most people within the company are absolutely lovely and the HR department were supportive. Leaving Encore was genuinely the highlight of my year.

Advice to Management

Directors and some managers to complete some courses in people management. You can't always shout to get what you want.
