Pros

Most people and teams are really approachable and easy to talk to. This makes for a good working environment.

Cons

1. Strategy and vision changes all the time. You get hired to do something, and some time later you find out that the project you've been working on is going to be stopped, and things are going to go back to the way they were before. Waste of time! 2. You will get a decent pay if you're British born, especially if you're male. Otherwise, they'll try to get you at the cheapest rate they can, since they know salaries in the UK are higher than in other parts of Europe. For reference, me & my non British peers (same level) get paid between £10k - £22k less than my British peers. Coincidence you say?! 3. You will not get a pay rise (easily or at all) if you don't qualify for the above requirement (British born) or are part of the "boys club". I know of team members asking for pay rises one, two and three times and got told "not the right time" or "my hands are tied". Later to find out that they were replaced by people on higher salaries.... 4. Communication is not something the business knows what it is or how to do. Things happen and you find out through someone who told someone who told someone who told you. Come on! People are fired, people are hired, teams change, your role is going to change due to structure & vision changes - and nobody tells you! You know because you hear it somewhere. You can't do this to people - going through the whole process of hiring them while you know they're going to get sacked in 3/6 /12 months' time. This is not the behavior of a FTSE company. 5. Company perks? We get a crappy breakfast once a month (poor variety and not many GF options) and some cheap prosecco & beer on the last Friday of each month. Just wow. GVC's revenue is public information... But where is that money going? It must go into the pockets of the "boys club" because it surely is not invested in the people working hard to achieve that....

Advice to Management

1. Communication is key! Please talk to your people - there's nothing worse than finding things out through rumours, especially when they affect you or your team. 2. Practice what you preach! If you really want people to avoid biases and promote equality, have a look at who works in your company and the way to treat them. Stop internally promoting the "boys club" and ensure there is equal pay amongst same level employees, regardless of place of origin or gender.
