Does Guidewire offer relocation assistance?

Pros

- Gives freedom to explore and come up with creative solutions. - Excellent compensation and benefits package.

Cons

- Some departments can be seen as working in silos. The company is integrating them but the pace is slow.

Advice to Management

Does Guidewire offer a wellness program?

Pros

Guidewire was my first job out of college, and I quickly realized why they have won awards as a top employer. They offer some of the best benefits for employees, including: - a remote work equipment stipend - generous yearly budget for wellness (gym membership, sports equipment, health classes, etc.) - reimbursement of mobile phone, internet for remote employees - the coveted unlimited PTO policy

Cons

Their product, software/SaaS for certain insurance companies, isn't anything especially cool or interesting to tell your friends about. Remote work is quite unengaging. Fairly few things going on that aren't in-person at their headquarter locations. This year, they also did not offer a travel budget for conferences.

Does Guidewire offer malpractice insurance?

Pros

Great opportunity for a stable career in insurance software. The insurance industry is very far behind from a tech perspective so you don't have to learn anything too challenging.

Cons

You can get stuck on projects in the middle of nowhere with little technical challenge, salary is lower than top tier tech companies. There is a tier of people who have been at Guidewire from the start who are all 50+ years old. They have a ton of experience but it is rare that you interact with them. When they eventually retire, they will leave behind a huge gap of knowledge.

Advice to Management

Find a way to better compensate high performers and get experience to young people and up and comers.

Great opportunity for a stable career in insurance software.
