What is a typical working day like at Hays Travel?

Pros

Zero commission holidays.. team are like a family.. great social parties

Cons

Poor pay minimum wage or pennies over Unrealistic sales targets that make bonus unachievable 60+k a year in profit to make 400 quid comms Long shifts little respect from above You are just a number that makes money Lots of staff young and apprentice which is how they get into the top 100 companies to work for however it's certainly not like that on the ground. Dont hit target your put on stages and the stages dont look at the big picture that no one is achieving and targets are not realistic

Advice to Management

Make bonus achievable or remove bonus and pay staff better Listen to the staff especially time served loyal staff

What is it like working with clients or customers at Hays Travel?

Pros

We’ll build system which is easy to use, however all bookings and quotes have to be manually loaded which is time consuming

Cons

If you are looking for a home-working company which provides leads this is definitely the WRONG choice. The quality of the leads is the worst I have ever experienced. Essentially you will have to source your own customers.. and there are much better options out there if that’s the case. You don’t get any incoming calls, these (I believe) are all handled by the main office and salaried staff. The leads you are able to access are all online quote requests, most of which don’t answer or reply.. the company are on your back to make sure you are calling, emailing or texting these constantly, even after having not had any form of reply for weeks. You have to request to delete quotes, and more often than not you are sent them back and told to continue harassing people who clearly don’t want to be contacted. Many of the quote requests have made up names or wrong contact information.

Advice to Management

Be more open about what you offer potential home-working candidates. What was sold was not what was delivered.
