What is health insurance like at Inspirato?

Pros

-1 free week vacation rental a year -If you’re lucky, a boss who cares -A fun product to talk about, who doesn’t love travel? -Health insurance is great

Cons

-Increase in pay matters solely on if you are a favorite of your direct boss, not your actual contributions -Day to day mental health depends solely on your direct boss (there are a few great ones, most are unqualified or put way too much work on the lower employees plates) -Work-Life balance is impossible if you care about doing a thorough job; way too much work in every department (and this was the case before the layoffs) -Maternity leave and help for parents is poor compared to other progressive companies -The culture of Inspirato is seemingly very important (which is why HR replies to many of these comments), and yet when long time employees bring up legitimate concerns it’s like pulling teeth for someone to take action -Brent the CEO will make swift decisions that change the entire bandwidth and workflow of many departments, but there’s no backup plan when hundreds of employees report feeling over-worked and burnt out, just a “muster through it” mentality to help the company make more money -Layoffs are common in today’s environment, but Inspirato is still losing employees by choice because of how poorly they’ve handled the work load for those still around -The cool office environment, health insurance, and PTO bring a lot of people to Inspirato; the pandemic and remote situation is showing the company’s true colors on if they actually value employees (which is questionable at best right now)

Advice to Management

Listen to employees when they say their boss is intimidating, too demanding, or overlooks their accomplishments while others are receiving praise, promotions, and raises for simply being more popular with their boss. And hire more staff or pay your existing staff more. Everyone is exhausted and many are looking for alternative employment. It’s a better business decision to retain employees than to train new employees.

Does Inspirato offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

• Continuous change • Vacation perk (although extremely hard to book, based on seniority rather than merit)

Cons

• Cliquey culture • The continuous change is so rapid, one project begins before the last one is in the home stretch • Nepotism is how you get ahead • Unlimited PTO is great in theory, but is countered with passive aggressive behavior from management about taking a day off.
