Advice to Management

When I was there, I was brought in to fulfill a role that had nobody in it, almost as if it was a new role created. It had a lot of potential to be very rewarding, both for the position holder and the company, but despite having five line managers above me, not one really went out of their way to help shape how that role could be. I was genuinely thrilled to be working with one of them, thinking I would get some actual mentorship, but they barely looked at me, let alone offered advice or direction for the role. That said, I did enjoy my time there, and only left because ANOTHER manager came in and decided not to renew my contract before they'd even spoke to me or took the time to discuss how the role could be beneficial to him (I've heard he was since fired, so...)
