How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at JustGiving?

Pros

A lot of very talented and driven people "lower down" aka execs, or junior managers Room for testing and trying new ways of working A lot of very friendly, fun people that make it a comfortable environment

Cons

Poor senior management - some people who have been there for years and have progressed purely based on time working there rather than any actual skill or talent Lack of transparency No real effort from the company during lockdown - no budget for home equipment, and no effort to convert previous christmas parties/team away days into a remote setting No real room for progression, a lot of teams are overworked and with people fleeing the second offices opened back up again, teams are short-staffed and overstretched. Yet senior management still wants growth. No appreciation for staff lower down, credit given to senior managers the majority of the time despite doing no heavy lifting (this may be indicative of my direct manager) No training budget or encouragement for upskilling

Advice to Management

Champion training and upskilling, be comfortable having genuine conversations about progression and pay It could be a great place to work, but it's too stuck in its ways and cares more about the bottom line than the people.

How are senior leaders perceived at JustGiving?

Pros

Wonderful cause, good work/life balance, some good people. Fair salaries. If you fit in, promotions are possible and there is a chance to move into other areas of the business.

Cons

Unrealistic targets can be set without adequate support. There are conflicting priorities and a lack of strong leadership. The lack of effective leadership has led to a culture of bullying and disrespect which when raised may get investigated but is tolerated. If you don't fit in, you won't feel welcome and in extreme cases will be pushed out by hostile members of staff. Pictures of Black fundraisers may be used on the website to promote a 'woke' image but there is a woeful lack of diversity within the company.

The lack of effective leadership has led to a culture of bullying and disrespect which when raised may get investigated but is tolerated.
