1+ year sale cycle if you're lucky. If you can't live on your base for 3 years, Kinaxis is not for you. Basically no BD, so a ton of prospecting that goes nowhere. A sale with payment terms pays the same way. You get drip paid. Product gaps. Super expensive, in a very competitive market. Very expensive health insurance No stock options for anyone lower than director level

Pros

Good management, great benefits, unlimited vacation.

Mobility is tough between teams, lack of career development.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! I'm sure it varies between departments a bit but people smart and passionate about working here, don't change that.

Pros

Kinaxis has risen in the supply chain world to be among the top suppliers to large and medium sized companies globally, so it is a solid product for supply chain planning. Kinaxis is a Canadian based company, so many of the cultural beliefs and systems are built around North American culture. The APAC and EMEA teams have their own unique culture and ways of working. Leadership team is solid and do their best to communicate to the employees. Great benefits package according to the local market rate. They really care about their employees.

Cons

Scale up growth means working hard and putting in extra hours to close deals. The company is conservative in hiring, so the capacity for delivery is always riding on the quarters results, like many scale ups in high tech.

Advice to Management

Kinaxis will need to invest more heavily in AI/ML to stay relevant in the market, Ruby Cloud won't be enough with competitors and new entrants taking enterprise automation to the next level. Invest more in merger & acquisition strategy and have a playbook for integrating new companies into Kinaxis...you don't need to invent everything in Ottawa...buy or make decisions. Also, focus on the leadership team and their development...they need to be a team to win.

Pros

Last friday of month is a paid leave. Good WFH facilities. Cool CEO. Growing company in Ottawa but not at all famous in the industry. Very diverse team. Good culture. Many big Fortune 100 companies as their customers. Many employees are with the company since 25+ years (Don't mess with them as they act as owners).

Cons

Reorgs happen quite often. A higher manager doesn't have a role to go up, executives will pull an entire team under him. Hardly any promotions can be seen. Only increasing salary won't be enough for employees. HR/Team Manager will constantly remind you saying you are paid higher than average in your role. Jumping to a different company made me realize that's a big lie.

Advice to Management

Unlimited vacations are fake benefits. Employees are feeling burnout. Management should force employees to take vacation days.
