How are the career development opportunities at Lavendon Group?

Pros

Forward thinking safety culture, people oriented - takes time to develop staff and nurture their progression, lots of opportunities across many different sectors and skillsests. People tend to stay for a long time, everyone I meet has 10 years+ service.

Cons

Only thing I can comment on is Head Office is 4 hrs drive from home!

Advice to Management

Tough times needs strong leadership. Continue to demonstrate the vital Leadership needed and keep the team morale upbeat. The business overwhelmingly understands and supports the direction we are taking and will be stronger than ever when things return to normal and NWP will be best placed to serve the market from a position of strength.

What are co-workers like at Lavendon Group?

Pros

Worked with some amazing colleagues, sadly most of whom are no longer with the business. Front line staff work so hard, some exceptional people.

Cons

Inept leadership, highly political with one or two manipulative individuals pulling strings based on friendships not talent. Vast proportion of rewards diverted to the senior team whilst cutting front line teams reward and incentives.

Advice to Management

Time for a complete change of top leadership, live the respect value don’t just drone on endlessly about it while feathering nests at the expense of the real value creators in the business; drivers, engineers and depot staff. Value talent higher, dispense with the jobs for the boys culture.
