What is health insurance like at Liberty Travel?

discounts on travel, some free stays at hotels

This is not a good place to work nor is it an easy job. Selling Vacations should not be this difficult and stressful.You get hired go through 2 weeks of training to make $14 an hour. They make you believe you’ll make a lot of money by selling but unless you are what they call a diamond agent you will only make $100-$300 in commission each month. They convince you by saying 'uncapped comission’The cost of everything, food, homes, rent, insurance, electricity, water, gas, even travel has gone up and Liberty Agents are still being paid the same bottom of the barrel .upper management and new region leaders make a killing and agents and store managers get nothing, why not pass the profit down where it belongs? store managers stay on top of every agent like theyre babies making sure they're using the systems and micromanaging their day to day duties, listen to their phone calls. how do you expect people to stay in the job and want to work hard for bare minimum and are being controlled (so many people start and within 2 years leave )You are better off working somewhere else for the same amount or even less and not having to deal with the stress and pressure and favoritism and bad attitudes. The way managementspeaks to people is degrading , rude and mean, especially on the last day of the Month.Nothing is ever good enough even when you hit your goal. Always being told more , more, this is not good enough and do what you have to to get it. Which causes agents to add money in fear of management. They have no respect for the agents, and make you think they do all of these conferences and buzz parties for you. No one cares about them and the only reason people attend is in fear of management. you are not paid for these and must attend. They make you pay for gas and tolls even to go out of your own pocket .I have even seen my manager brought to tears because of the pressure and stress of getting team members to go to these things without threatening them, and the pressure and stress from management to get payments in early and make your numbers and even doubting the manager when my team and I know the manager is amazing. Some people are set up to fail so they have a reason to fire them They tell you they have all of these tools for you to use and make more money but all of these people coming in through Kioks at the mall are mostly fake emails. The calls coming through on the call line are almost always bogus .There are some bookings , but not enough to say these are great tools for you to make more money. They say work life balance is good here and that’s the funniest and the biggest lie . because you’re expected to reply to text messages and emails if you’re off and may even get a call or two from management and must answer. Times you’re in the office until 9 pm, so if you have a family this job is not for you. you cannot take vacation from January to July this is called high season and you need to be in the office. the gave people extra vacation hours to use if you run out of your regular vacation hours, funny because they dont let you use the vacation hours you already have. They keep men who sexually harass several women in the company with no consequences, how does HR live with themselves working in this company?

Advice to Management

If you can’t respect your people, back off sometimes and pay people more for working so hard,having customers talk down to them, work tirelessly to be told “I found it cheaper online” then maybe you need to face reality and get rid of irrelevant jobs that you keep creating in HQ or just shut down all together.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Liberty Travel?

Pros

A lot of possibility for career advancement, opportunity to travel internationally, opportunity to earn free incentive nights for personal trips to Caribbean, opportunity to voice opinion, uncapped earnings if you put in the time

Cons

Lower starting base salary, potentially longer hours, nights and weekend hours

Advice to Management

Listen to employees feedback more often, offer additional support from other departments that are not sales/retail employees, additional trainings should be offered

How are senior leaders perceived at Liberty Travel?

Pros

Opportunities to travel, simplicity of certain systems, learn about about the world

Cons

Choatic leadership - they went through some restructuring during my time there but my team had 4 differnet team leaders in the 18 months I was there. High turnover The equal pay for all is good in theory but not so much when people in NYC and Boston make the same as people in much smaller and cheaper areas.
