What is health insurance like at Lucas Group?

Pros

The company culture here is amazing! Everyone is so supportive of each other which is refreshing to see compared to other companies where people just want to tear the other person down or not work collaboratively. Lucas Group has a very thorough training program that is very insightful on how to become the best in the industry. Everyone is more than willing to help you if you have a question about anything. The ability to also work from home is amazing!

Cons

The health insurance is rather lacking as far as how good it is. It is more expensive that any other employer I've ever had and the coverage is so-so. The only other con I can think of is that non-recruiters are not allowed the same unlimited vacation policy and only get 2 weeks of PTO that has to accrue first.

Advice to Management

For younger people in the company, it would be great if you offered a student loan repayment assistance program of some sort.

Does Lucas Group offer parental leave?

Pros

Some of the pro's if not all, would be how much of a team the whole office actually is. There is nothing fake about this place, everyone is always helping, putting in 100% effort, connecting with clients, and candidates in such a positive way. I think that how they treat their employees is beyond any job I have ever had before, I did come from a very negative job atmosphere before, but being here at Lucas Group has made me enjoy coming into work each and everyday. They are extremely flexible to family needs, maternity leave, health, and even personal days that are needed. Our health benefits are also wonderful, if you know which plan to sign up for, I used to work in healthcare so I would say our insurance is top notch. I would highly recommend Lucas Group to anyone and everyone that is willing to put in the hard work to become a top recruiter.

Cons

Nothing at all, everyone at my office loves being here.

How are senior leaders perceived at Lucas Group?

Pros

Flexible/"unlimited" PTO, Casual Work Environment

Cons

No structure to the business... at all. Lack of marketing materials, very minimal training, lack of senior leadership support, no clear vision or strategy for the future, and a new CEO who has been causing a complete mess for the business from the day he first started. He does not value the Lucas Group employees and is unfortunately ruining the business..at least what is left of it. Loved this company when I first started and unfortunately it is a completely different firm since Andi Jennings left. Also, how they treated their employees during the COVID-19 crisis was despicable - letting employees go within the first week of the crisis, including employees who had dedicated 10+ years of their career there. At least word is officially getting around...

Advice to Management

Value your employees. Follow through with your word. Invest in career development and trainings. Bring Andi back.

Lack of marketing materials, very minimal training, lack of senior leadership support, no clear vision or strategy for the future, and a new CEO who has been causing a complete mess for the business from the day he first started.

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Lucas Group?

Pros

Good commission percentage compared to a lot of firms. Most teams allow autonomy that is proportional to your success. They probably have upgraded their recruiting platform by now. The former outdated platform was a major source of friction in using the resume database effectively. There are plenty of resources if you seek them out.

Cons

Oversight of managers at the team level (managing partners) is lax. They can end up being Machiavellian in how they approach inbound business or other situations. You shouldn't depend on inbound business of course. You're fine if you bring in your own accounts. Example to watch out for: If you're new to recruiting, the wrong managing partner may influence you to assume the risk of working on bad job orders. Success depends on where you spend your time (this could be a pro or con). The company-wide market localization strategy is good or bad depending on you. Some recruiters have logins to different resources that you may not know about. Constraints put on you by management are for the good of the team long term (understandable). Drive your own business and become a source of opportunities (job orders) for your team.

Advice to Management

Moot point: Maxhire was kept for way too long. Watch out for managing partner leadership disasters.

The company-wide market localization strategy is good or bad depending on you.
