How do employees feel about Marks & Spencer's hiring practices regarding hiring without bias?

Pros

Organisation policies are great, place and ambiance of corporate office is welcoming.

Cons

Biased management, old people who are in same role have become complacent. They judge a person on how well they are dressed and how well they can communicate in English.

Advice to Management

Need to get rid of partial management at the top

What have employees experienced with background checks at Marks & Spencer?

Pros

Lovely staff and quick employment procedure, well-informed along the way and upon leaving, providing a leaving leaflet addressing next steps such as asking for references Measures in place to support colleagues in a holistic way and open to suggestions of change for example supporting staff with limited hearing

Cons

Can employ further staff to meet delivery targets before store opening but I can only comment on the store that I worked in, this may have also been affected by Covid
