How are flexible working hours at Marks & Spencer?

Pros

Flexible working hours, staff discount is 20%, opportunities to be trained in various departments or move around stores. The quality of the products that we sell are fantastic and much better than any where else. Food is the best area of the business. Customer service we provide is second to none.

Cons

Working day can get repetitive at times. Not a great deal of earning potential since they have recently removed the section-coordinator role from the business which was a bad decision to make just before the Christmas peak period. You are working to help meet the current demand and needs for the business so are expected to work weekends and change you hours to accommodate the business.

Advice to Management

Help colleague to progress further into the business with management roles, in different stores if not available in current role. Head office don't always know what is best for the store and you should trust your own judgement.
