Does Norwegian Cruise Line offer parental leave?

Pros

Everyone in the company is very friendly, and helpful. There is no micro-managing in my particular time. The gives bonuses at the end of the year and free cruise offer every so often. I don't hate going to work. They also promote from within.

Cons

They need to update the employee benefits. They offer the same lame benefits most companies offer. They should offer more time off for employees and a better maternity leave program. You have to use your PTO as maternity leave along with FMLA which isn't much. They also don't give you all the holidays off.

Does Norwegian Cruise Line offer life insurance?

Pros

1. WFH 2. They provide all the equipment,( except the internet) Computer, 2 monitors, headset, and BU battery 3. Insurance is reasonably priced.

Cons

Crazy zoom training for 5 weeks, can't move your head outside of the camera. During training it's 9-6 M-F EST, 1 hour lunch. Afterward, you are told you're bidding on shifts based on performance. This is a LIE! You are allocated shifts based on what THEY need and are often forced to work OT. You're dropped down to 30 min lunch breaks; the QA and metrics is unreasonable. You are taking calls back to back alllllllll day dealing with rude Trave agents and guests. Also, what they don't include is you are also SALES, yet you don't reserve commission for the sale, as the sales dept does! You can't transfer the call to sales, but must sell the cruise and not get paid a commission. The hours range from 7 is-12:00 AM MIDNIGHT 7 days a week. It is brutal and I would not recommend it. There is a VERY high turnover; for example, there are multiple training class every 2 weeks, with 60-70 ppl in EVERY class and this still can not keep up with their call volume. We started with 198 ppl split in 3 classes. One week later, 2 more classes started with 136 pp in both. That's 334 NEW HIRES and they're still hiring! Another 2 classes starting in a week, and for better understanding. The perfect way to understand right now there are only 165 Cruise Specialists left in the dept! You're expected to Study and complete Workbooks outside of training on your own with NO PAY and is required to pass training. Oh, and let's not forget your schedule changes every 90 days; so don't get comfy with your schedule. Mgmt does NOT help and simply tell you to go research on your own, "Use your resources"

Advice to Management

-Pay your ppl more,(Norweigan's CEO is the highest paid of all Cruise CEOS. ) Being Sales AND Service to rude TAs, and guests AND your stringent call metrics; $16 isn't nearly enough to pay for this type of abuse and stress. -Be more flexible with your employees and schedules. -Offer a better cruise discount to employees, heck offer complimentary cruises for your employees. (We can't afford to go at $16 p hr) -Get rid of your stringent QA metrics, it's horrible and almost inhumane; you didn't hire monkeys

3. Insurance is reasonably priced.
