What is working from home like at OSTC?

Pros

Social stuff, pizza, generally friendly people, informal, handy for the station. They can be flexible about what days you come in. They do want to change things and be progressive. I believe their training is good for trading staff.

Cons

Some people had just been there too long in my opinion and one or two had difficult personalities. I'd never heard of OSTC before I joined. Very little parking on site unless you're senior or are members of a small group who can get permission. Feels quiet at holiday times when some people work from home. Long hours (although they want to change this) and you may be just largely left to pick things up yourself. Key to your job enjoyment will be getting accepted by 'the group' you work with/for.

Advice to Management

Keep an eye on the effects of the few difficult people who feel their influence threatened.

How is the work/life balance at OSTC?

Pros

Supportive mentors, decent infrastructure, healthy working environment with colleagues, great place to start in global markets

Cons

The company focuses on very low risk strategies and over-focuses on volume which hampers the traders ability to take quality trades. Only trades in futures. Gender ratio in the Mumbai office is poor. Good place to start and continue for a while, not for a very long term career. Work life balance is poor averaging to 60 to 65hr per week, but this is prevalent in every trading role. So this one is really not a con.

Advice to Management

Try and open your minds to a more dynamic business model, more risk also means more returns. The comfort zone is the most horrible place to be in.
