Pros

- Great company culture - inclusive environment, great social events e.g summer and Christmas parties are the best I've seen, weekly Friday drinks - Company benefits and commission - L&D team that you can not compare - training throughout ever step of your OJ career. - Extra half hour lunch for gym goer really helps

Cons

- As in all recruitment jobs, the hours are a little longer, but you get out what you put in. OJ recently decreased the work hours also. - It can be a tough job as it is a successful company, but if you are committed and hard working you will do well and reap the benefits.

Advice to Management

A little bit more flexibility in terms of approaching your day. if needed.

Pros

The people at Oliver James are the best thing about the company. If you put yourself out there, you'll bond with them and develop friendships. Almost everyone is cheering on each other in their careers. The atmosphere, although can be stressful due to recruitment, is usually one of fun. In terms of recruitment, we have excellent L & D who are ready and available to help train new employees and keep skills up for current employees. There are some managers who are hands on and will sit with people to teach them what they need in order to succeed on their teams. The other managers will answer questions, but won't actually sit down and explain to you what you need to be doing in order to make it within the company. Recruitment takes long hours and lots of effort in order to yield results. The employees that put in the hard work, reap the benefits - even if they have to figure out how to do it by themselves along the way. Colleagues will be there to help, though. You just have to ask for it.

Cons

It's a boy's club, so people are not treated equally. If you can work with those conditions, OJ will be fine for you.

Advice to Management

Communication needs to be improved by everyone in the business.

Pros

I joined Oliver James with no previous experience in the recruiting industry. They have been unbelievable in developing me from a professional standpoint. I have complete access to senior management, who have been enthusiastic about developing my skillsets. Additionally they have a fantastic learning and development program. From a culture standpoint I feel that I have found a company that is the perfect fit for me. From day one every person has been massively inclusive and welcoming, not only on my team but across all divisions. Something to note is that within my first 2 weeks I had a one-on-one introductory call with the CEO of Oliver James. I think this speaks to the companies attention to detail and investment in their employees.

Cons

Recruiting can be a challenging industry, but as of right now I don't have any complaints about my role.

Advice to Management

The culture at Oliver James is massively appealing. Don't lose it.
