How are senior leaders perceived at Optionis Group?
Pros
I have worked at Optionis for just under four years and in that time, I have been part of an amazing team of people who are working under clear and inspiring direction and leadership. This is a large and growing, diverse company to work for which in turn offers an array of opportunities from which to grow and develop. It is also a company who offer excellent rewards and recognition along with ensuring all employees at every level feel valued. This is a company I have and will continue to highly recommended to friends and former colleagues.

How is management perceived at Optionis Group?
Pros
New CEO and management team are looking at overhauling existing benefits and providing packages that appeal to individuals rather than a blanket approach to all employees. Study support for Accountants to become chartered, clear progression for sales staffs with competitive and achievable OTEs, an investment in technology and regular incentives, events and a fully expensed Christmas party.
Cons
Nature of the industry means the environments are fast-paced which doesn't necessarily appeal to all job seekers
Advice to Management
Continue to listen to staff and build a strategy that will provide long-term engagement and brand recognition

Is Optionis Group a good company to work for?
Pros
Free parking and dress down
Cons
Optionis operate very much 'on the line'. They do the bare minimum that is legally required of them with regards to their staff (i.e. vast majority of people are paid minimum wage and they only offer a statutory minimum pension). Optionis is definitely a gateway employer which explains why their turnover is exceptionally high. Optionis attract younger less experienced employees who may be inclined to accept the low pay and terrible benefits, however, they struggle to retain staff past 1 year's service due to this. Maybe Optionis have accepted high turn over as part of their culture? I feel as though this has resulted in a dis-loyal, inexperienced workforce as the average length of service is less than 2 years. There is a significant divide between staff and the senior management team with senior managers being treated to all expenses paid trips to New York and generous bonuses etc whilst staff struggle by with a 1% annual pay rise that doesn't even cover RPI. Optionis employ a large number or Apprentices who are used purely for cheap labour. If an Apprentice makes 1 mistake they are dismissed. There is no attempt to work with Apprentices to manage their performance and support them (something you would expect given that the majority are 16 and this is their first experience of a job) they are simply terminated. I would absolutely NOT recommend Optionis as an employer and would strongly recommend that any young Accountants looking for a great Company to progress and develop within look at Brookson (where you will find most ex Optionis employees....)
Advice to Management
You will never build a culture where staff are loyal if disciplinaries and dismissals are a weekly thing. Invest more than the cost of a free sandwich in your staff and you may see some loyalty back from them....
