How is management perceived at Pavers Shoes?

Pros

Technical team is well managed and there is plenty of scope for software engineers of all levels to have their ideas considered and put into place. There is a very strong family-feeling culture with solid ethics. All departments are easy to communicate with and there is generally a low staff turnover within the IT department.

Cons

The sheer size of the company with so many moving parts and various departments sometimes means it's hard to get all the decision makers into a room as fast as a project requires when the scope of a change touches upon so many areas, which is usually most projects within IT, however this is unavoidably a natural part of working within a large organisation that has been safely cautious towards change management.

Advice to Management

Introducing an out-of-hours work pattern for the development team when needed would help alot as there is very little room for downtime during the retail day and the business park/office usually shuts earlier than a new system deploy would need. This is especially needed when testing physical automated systems on-site which are usually in live operation from the morning until closing.
