What is the work environment like at QIAGEN?
Pros
All work life has its ups and downs, but I can honestly say I enjoyed my time at QIAGEN Manchester and met some truly unforgettable colleagues whom I hope to stay in touch with. - Some excellent training available. - Opportunities to grow for those that are proactive. - Great variety of staff and interests on site, generally a great work environment. - Good software/hardware. - Opportunities to affect improvements
Cons
- Progression can be slower than one would like, onus seems to be on the employee to market oneself. - Diversity in more senior roles could be improved, however the company very transparent about this and has committees in place to tackle the issue.
Advice to Management
Nurture & compensate some of the intermediate/middle staff in order to retain them, there are some rockstars in there!
