Pros

* Lots of opportunity for me to grow and try new things * Interesting technology * Such a diverse group of coworkers all across the world * A generally positive, "can-do" culture * People are generally approachable and easy to work with * Our corporate social responsibility program is genuine -- I have a chance to spend work time helping a humanitarian organization -- feels good! * A decent recognition program that I regularly use to say thanks to coworkers * Excellent compensation and benefits * I have had a lot of flexibility and autonomy in how, when, and where I work * My manager is super --sincerely interested in my happiness, growth, and success at Qlik

Cons

* A global company means challenges with coordinating schedules across timezones * Cultural differences are more real than some people think, though I feel like most coworkers work hard to be open and work well together * Tech industry is ever evolving and sometimes it feels like our direction and strategy can't stand still * We are still working to break down some silos across the business, but some silo-thinking still exists * Some strong personalities are difficult to work with, but this is certainly the exception

How are promotions handled at Qlik?

Pros

- The office is very close with one another. Jokes, laughs, butting-heads, you get both sides here. It feels like a family. Everyone is friendly and wants to build relationships with each other. - Team leads and management are all open minded. They will frequently ask everyone's opinions on office issues. They are also very hands-off and do not micromanage at all. You get your work done at your own pace. It's a very trusting environment. - Fully stocked kitchen is a great perk. There is also a ping pong table that we use daily.

Cons

- The atmosphere has become more corporate in the past few months. Upper management from HQ has become more profit focused rather than culturally focused as before. People are starting to feel less relevant and more like cannon fodder. - Work from home should be a more acceptable option. It is unfairly stigmatized by management even though it would be ideal in certain situations - Career advancement and promotions are very unclear. Every time I would ask about how to promote I get empty corporate answers. If you want to retain your employees you need to have a set path for promotion.

- Career advancement and promotions are very unclear.
