How are senior leaders perceived at Screwfix?
Pros
You get to go home after your shift
Cons
The worst place i have ever worked. After spending 5 years working in Norfolk (Area 7) I saw so much awful management it was unbelievable. No compassion for personal situations and DO NOT suffer from any mental health issues, because u will be managed out. I was told to get people out of the business because they were too much hassle! And in the end they did this to me also. Senior management promote this being a 'boys club' the pay is horrendous for you are expected to do. On Area 7 no covid protection for anyone. In fact no guidelines are adhered to. Cups left everywhere, senior management just turn up without masks or any precautions. So much bullying behind the scenes. Inappropriate jokes from the area management that border on racist and xenophobic content. Overall, something needs to change in the way this company thinks and is being run.
Advice to Management
Start again!!! Area 7 especially is being run like it is the 1940s

Cons
No progression past a certain point Would be good to see more family orientated thinking e.g. flexi working hours (part time options) mat leave/pat leave beyond statutory, paid parental leave.... there's definitely things screwfix could to better to engage and retain working parents especially mums.
Advice to Management
Look at progression opportunities for beyond branch manager Look at opportunities for working parents that goes beyond the shift flexibility
