How is the work/life balance at Screwfix?

Pros

Great culture, fantastic opportunities, good work ethic, good work life balance, great team work, welcoming and nourishing environment, competitive pay. I have worked for various companies over the past 30 years and I have been part of Screwfix for nearly year and I can quite confidently say that this quite simply one of the best companies I have had the privilege to be part of.

Cons

I genuinely cannot think of any!

Advice to Management

Please keep doing what you are doing, I have never been happier.

Great culture, fantastic opportunities, good work ethic, good work life balance, great team work, welcoming and nourishing environment, competitive pay.

What is overtime like at Screwfix?

Pros

Everyone is very kind and their covid rules are pretty good. There is always something to do. Can progress up the ladder if you are motivated.

Cons

There is no loyalty, you can help out and do overtime and get a good rapport with customers and colleagues and managers but if you’re a minute or two late one day you will be called out on that with no leniency whatsoever. Very high expectations for hard working staff and extremely low expectations from the others, needs to be fairer. Can’t just expect the hard workers to be working constantly while another is on their phone in a corner. Systems need updating also

Advice to Management

Look at how much people do and consider this when making decisions. Don’t expect different amounts of work from different people without fair reason I.e sickness/injury/other wellbeing issue.
