Pros

Some great people Supportive culture Customer focussed Fair salary Flexible working in some areas Opportunities to develop and move within the business

Cons

Salary not as competitive as some other building societies and banks. Sometimes people with the wrong behaviours are rewarded for getting results, despite making other people they work with miserable in the process. Behaviours need more focus in performance management.

Advice to Management

Place more focus on behaviours, if people are happy and feel valued they will deliver results. Invest in more change resource.

Pros

Skipton is a great place to work. Lots of benefits and my salary is good.

Cons

Beware some of our leaders talk about values but will undermine you if they’re challenged even when it’s part of your role. The values are for others to follow not them!

Advice to Management

Lead by example. Don’t expect colleagues to adhere to the values, policies and procedures when you are not doing the same.
