How are senior leaders perceived at Stella & Dot Family of Brands?

Pros

Strong bond between employees, they are all suffering together

Cons

Think Theranos – but fashion and jewelry CEO lies to her employees and believes her own lies CEO only really cares about the field because what few of them are left are considered revenue driving- most of them have left to companies that are actually doing well Never gives any business changing decisions a chance to thrive before they are canned and on to the next one Business is failing and CEO comes up with any excuse possible other than her poor leadership and bad business decisions Just laid off 20% of the company during world crisis Does not pay bonuses Tons of hours Way too many meetings Company is being expected to have their office in her home since she has closed the office because she can't afford it

Advice to Management

You are not aligned, you are doing the CEO's bidding. These are lost years on your resume, everyone knows she is a fraud.

What kind of career opportunities exist at Stella & Dot Family of Brands?

Pros

Fast paced environment People are nice and professional Cookie cutter, modern boho is their vibe.. if you like that Physical office is IG pretty

Cons

Just a job, not a career No room to grow professionally or internally Expect to sacrifice some weekends Internal teams need more growth ethnically The company hasn’t been doing so well since BLM, and here’s why...

Advice to Management

No, they are not racist. However, especially in today’s political and social climate, diversity is a means for success. It not only creates growth, empathy, a wider range of audiences, and a means for innovation. This is something this brand has been lacking for a while, which is probably why it’s not doing so well anymore. People want to support true women of color. With that being said, the internal teams are primarily white-dominated. For a brand that emphasizes that their grandparents were immigrants. They don’t want to grow their internal teams with that mindset. How can a brand represent “all” women of color when they hardly have any internally? There is no true empathy nor understanding for that to translate externally. Instead, they continue to create this white-colored canvas, one without ranges of color. For a brand that tries to pronounce it externally, I can firmly say that they cannot be proud to admit that internally. I hope to expect more inclusion of POC in the future.

No room to grow professionally or internally
