How are the career development opportunities at Supermacs?

Pros

Good teamwork Food at work (not free but almost) Flexible hours Good opportunity to advance Very supportive head office

Cons

Long shifts, a lot of shifts are 10 hours, way too long during very busy stressful times. Late finnishes. Too many sections open late at night

Advice to Management

Great place to work, however it can be very stressful during busy times. 10 hour shifts where there can be ques and full restaraunts for 5 or 6 hours continous is not healthy and will lead to higher staff turnover. Too many sections open when staff numbers are lower, 7 staff on during the day but 4 at night with the same offerings is not possible.

What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Supermacs?

Pros

Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout my time there. I was given a good level of responsibility from the start and was supported and advised whenever needed. I got great insight into recruitment, employment law, training, employee wellbeing and the internal operation of a large company. I was encouraged to try everything, for example, I attended various staff and management training days outside the office. It was a very nice environment to work in and to gain relevant experience for my career after college.

Cons

The hours were quite long but overall I can't fault my experience at Supermac's.

Advice to Management

Maybe consider a graduate programme to make Supermac's more well known as a company that you could have a career in marketing/HR/IS, etc in. Currently most students only think of Supermac's as a place to work part-time while in college.
