What is the company culture like at Technology Services Group UK?

Pros

Great potential in the business.

Cons

Toxic culture. No suitable management with relevant experience or drive to lead the business successfully. Frequent job cutting and restructuring to save money in the hope of showing a profit for future investors. Staff not valued, staff are just numbers. Pure profit focused, not customer focused despite the marketing and HR PR! No long term plan, it changes every year. Dishonest management. Morale at all time low due to uncertainty in company's future.

Advice to Management

Board needs to change to one that understands IT and customer relations ASAP to save the business. Focus on customers needs and not solely TSG's profits. Focusing on the customers needs will bring the profits. Learn to value your staff or risk losing more great people!

Toxic culture.

What is the salary like at Technology Services Group UK?

Pros

- We have some very skilled and diligent people who go out of their way to help customers. I enjoy working with these guys and enjoy being pushed to improve my skills - I don't know if this is true in all areas of the business but I have never felt stifled by process or management - if you have a great idea and can deliver it - no one will stop you. It is up to you to make it happen though. Do this enough times and it will eventually be noticed and rewarded - The training and rewards for professional development are first rate. As well as paying for you to get certified, when you do - your salary is automatically increased. TSG do seem to take your professional development as seriously as you do. This makes it a great option if you are just starting out in IT - Because of the company's size there are opportunities to move around and cross train, as long as you are motivated to make it happen. - Apprentice schemes - TSG are developing a culture of taking in apprentices and developing them into first rate IT people. There are numerous examples of people starting straight out of college or school and going on to well paid jobs in various places within the business within a couple of years

Cons

- The company could do with more technical/product talent at the top of the organisation. This would allow us to actually be in front of industry trends rather than lagging behind them - All other cons I can think of would apply equally well to any other company so don't seem worth noting - it is a great place to work

Advice to Management

Hold senior managers to account for their results. In the past 2 years and more recently you have appointed some far more credible leaders to actually lead the organisation. Find more of them and replace the old guard.

As well as paying for you to get certified, when you do - your salary is automatically increased.

What are other benefits and incentives like at Technology Services Group UK?

Pros

- Teams contain some excellent talent who are a pleasure to work with - Good work/life balance (though this can vary depending on team and job role)

Cons

- SMT blindly push towards grand visions that have no basis in reality, while batting away any voices of reason regardless of expertise. The "We know best, so do as we say" attitude leaves employees disillusioned and morale in pieces. - Mass redundancies are frequent to cover for poor high level decisions. - Progression is non existent, and a bonus scheme works on entire business performance, which is repeatedly reported as disappointing.

Advice to Management

You have so much trust to repair between SMT and the rest of the business, but it wont happen if you keep this culture of secret meetings and decisions without consultation.

- Progression is non existent, and a bonus scheme works on entire business performance, which is repeatedly reported as disappointing.
