Does Tesco offer bonus pay?

Pros

Good benefits - performance based bonus for managers, staff discount, good pension scheme (company matches up to 7.5%), maternity not bad either.

Cons

Company management is great, but management in some stores can be annoying, too much nepotism. Better work conditions in the offices than stores. Store workers do a lot more for less pay, especially managers. Starting salary for a new manager who formerly was a team leader is sometimes less than that of a fresh graduate in the office, even with all the responsibilities and ever declining resources.

Advice to Management

Stop cutting hours, it makes managers' jobs in the stores even harder having to deliver more for lesser and lesser always.

What are pay rises like at Tesco?

Pros

Team Leaders are friendly, you get to know them personally and made great friends with the staff Hourly pay is above average compared to other companies Opportunities to progress up to management and train in different departments Regular, generous breaks Generous sick policy and got a bonus for hard work with coronavirus Very fair discipline policy

Cons

Genuine improvements are often shunted because 'expensive' but managers and CEO gets bonuses and raises, and the shop floor staff are ignored Sometimes hard work is unnoticed and we get a generic written letter in the staff hallway from store manager Store/ senior manager don't help on the checkouts but make decisions about what we need to do more of/ different when they don't understand the pressure we are already under. Older technology isn't upgraded so slow/ frustrating experience

Advice to Management

Listen to what colleagues on the shop floor are saying, stop thinking you know better when you haven't got a clue what it's like working on the front end, invest managers bonuses into the store and upgrade self-checkouts, handsets, new sustainable products and break out the mould.
