Does there seem to be diversity at Turtle Bay?

Pros

You get one small meal per shift

Cons

- Avoid this place at all costs. They charge you £30 a shift to work for them and take All your card tips. - Management was just tragic. Rude and bullying DM. Really difficult place to work if managers don't like you. They treat you terribly and are predators who do not care about the employees well being at all.

Advice to Management

Change management team

How is race or ethnicity talked about at Turtle Bay?

Pros

The team is fantastic, helps to keep morale up and can make an awful shift feel better. Management generally understanding of issues and would make some effort to accommodate you if you are struggling - until they don't.

Cons

A typical day at TB is coming in for your 9 1/2 hour shift. You are then given a busy section (or 2) of people who are on a bottomless brunch. Unfortunately, if the restaurant is full, the bar will never be able to produce drinks fast enough to satisfy customers leading to hours of complaints, poor tips and walkouts. I was assaulted and sexually harassed on several occasions with managers unwilling or unequipped to deal with distressed staff members. On one shift where I was assaulted several times and left in tears, I was offered a '5-minute break' and then sent to finish the rest of my 12-hour shift. Floor team members get shorter breaks than any other member of staff with management only having to offer 20-minute unpaid breaks for every 9 1/2 hours of work. If you work longer than this they do give you an hour break which is also unpaid. After resigning from the company (primarily for health reasons). I was excluded from staff events and barred from entering the restaurant (despite other staff in the same position as me not facing these consequences). Management also told other staff members that I quit because 'I didn't want to work a shift' which wasn't true and really unprofessional for them to gossip about me. Overall, I would not recommend Turtle Bay, you could easily find other places to work that will pay above minimum wage and actually respect their team that put in hours of unseen and unpaid effort on behalf of the company (who really doesn't care about them).

Advice to Management

Equalize breaks for waiters in line with other staff e.g bartenders Training on how to listen to staff members when they have genuine concerns ( I was ignored on more than one occasion when I tried to explain my customers were too drunk to serve) There have been several incidents where I was harassed or assaulted by drunk customers and then told 'there was a communication issue across the board tonight' Could increase pay to be in line with other restaurants in the area so staff don't feel underpaid Staff food should be free - it's not a big ask and costs the company next to nothing

I was excluded from staff events and barred from entering the restaurant (despite other staff in the same position as me not facing these consequences).
