Does UKFast.Net pay for a gym membership?

Pros

free gym, some other team members were pleasant.

Cons

Advertised the role as a 'graduate scheme'. In fact, the entire job was cold calling. The actual job was not remotely similar to what was promised. Terrible atmosphere of fear around the place, almost Stalinist levels of propaganda and fake evangelism. Any dissenters or skeptics raising valid concerns were ostracised or fired. 'Team building' gym sessions were mandatory. Felt a lot like what I imagine being in a cult is like. I've never worked in a place with a higher turnover rate- don't expect to stay for longer than 3 months. Salary was low as it's replaced by 'benefits' such as free coffee and the gym. Avoid at all costs.

Advice to Management

Be honest about job roles, earning potential, career progression. Trust your staff. Spend less money on shiny PR and try to create a genuine culture. Look into alternative selling techniques from cold- calling.

Why do UKFast.Net employees quit?

Pros

Some very nice people in the office.

Cons

Incredibly high staff turnover. Honestly it is shocking. I have never worked anywhere where people would be there one day, be well-regraded by their peers and bosses, and the next day their desk is empty and you discover they were let go. I witnessed one person question the CEO’s judgement on something (very politely and it was entirely justified) and next thing you know they are gone. This was an exemplary employee who was often singled out for praise, let go because they dared to suggest the CEO might want to consider an alternative. This was not an isolated incident. All the slides, pool tables and sandy car parks in the world won’t make up for a total lack of job security.

Advice to Management

Stop encouraging/practically forcing people who work there to write glowing reviews and look at the issues you need to solve. You cannot run a business without good people and you won’t keep good people in that atmosphere.

How are promotions handled at UKFast.Net?

Pros

After three years working at UKFast I can't believe its taken me so long to write a review...Every day I am fortunate enough to wake up feeling excited about the day ahead! I am surrounded by people who I love working with, in a role where I progress every day and in an environment that is like nowhere I have ever seen before. The culture here is a credit to my incredibly supportive colleagues and the fact we're all hired based on the fact that we really do care! UKFast reward hard work and dedication over anything else. Almost all of the senior positions in the company have been filled with people who have worked their way up. Any other company would have rigid 'hierarchies' in place that only reward people for length of service and not necessarily because they are the best person for the role. After 3 big promotions in 3 years I can safely say UKFast is the opposite. There are so many benefits but the ones I appreciate most every day : - Free parking - An onsite gym - Weekly PT sessions - Group circuit training with my team - Training and Development qualifications delivered onsite and externally. - Office dog policy - Monthly sales incentives - Our Netball team - Beer Fridays - Trips to Sale Sharks and Snowdon

Cons

I live pretty far away so the commute isn't ideal especially with the roadworks in the city centre at the moment! I was almost deterred by the reviews on this platform but I'm so so glad I came into the offices and met the team for myself! Seeing is believing - don't waste your time reading inaccurate bitter reviews. If you're fortunate enough to have the right attitude to work in this incredible company then make the most of the opportunities available and apply.

Advice to Management

Keep listening to your teams so that as we continue to grow we keep our core values and culture at the heart of everything we do.
