Does there seem to be diversity at University of Nottingham?

Pros

The surrounding green environment. Everyone will tell you that. A very small number of competent staff. Flexibility, but this is being clamped down.

Cons

Health insurance has gotten stingy. Never had dental, nor compensation for traditional chinese medicine, chiropractor, or alternative therapies. Very bad politics, cost cutting exercises, incompetant bosses, micromanaging, bad recruiting and promotion decisions, competant and friendly staff who leave the uni are common occurrences. Bad professional practices and attitudes from staff who are from different parts of the world. Colonial fever is being cured amongst the local staff however. Lack of funding for research projects. The uni has policies against bullying, harrassment and academic misconduct. But they are hardly enforced and seldom investigated. Only applicable after years of evidence and to people lower in the hierarchical chain. Upper management who don't come down to the grassroots.

Advice to Management

Do something about the very low morale and toxic environment. Get rid of toxic colleagues.

The uni has policies against bullying, harrassment and academic misconduct.
