What are some insights into the strategy or vision at Wolseley UK?

Advice to Management

If you are looking for a management role where you are in charge of the branch and make commercial decisions based around you own P&L and own business acumen/experience this isn't eh role for you. You won't be managing anything you will be expected to report on everything and complete various roles rather than the one role you were employed to do. At first it will seem great but bed in and I assure you things will get worse - staff turnover is high, management turnover is higher and higher again managerial politics. The culture within the company is one of blame and finger pointing - you will literally be called out on historic incidents that you weren't even aware of but someone was... I ran a branch taking £75k per month with a awful team and reputation - replaced the team, improved customer relations, increased sale too £115k per month and this was done with me and one other. When I asked for support was told 'there isn't anyone available' & even though the margin was at 33% and I had a very healthy P&L - I wasn't allowed to employ another body. The biggest laugh comes when you are a profitable branch with a healthy margin and are told to lower your margin. That's right they want you to do more work for less money. Left and glad I did - 2.5 years wasted...save your mental health and wait for another role in another company.
