Does YouView assist with or provide childcare?

Pros

flexible working; benefits such as retailer discount portal, cycle to work scheme, private medical, payroll giving, holiday purchase scheme, TFL annual pass loan; location; regular company events;

Cons

annual redundancies, letting people go during probation period, delaying extensions to contractors to last minute; turning from a very informal and relaxed culture to a very formal corporate culture

What kind of career opportunities exist at YouView?

Pros

- Small but well formed dev teams - Well positioned to impact it's industry with strong product offering - Great location - Friendly people - Few enough staff you can broadly get to know everyone (sub 150) - Good opportunities for growth

Cons

- Complex shareholdership and client relationship restricts ability for it to succeed. Bound to shareholder/client needs rather than free market.

How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at YouView?

Pros

Working with very friendly and intelligent people I've learned a lot in my time here, senior staff are on the whole very approachable Wellbeing of staff is a priority Good depth of technologies used (In normal times) excellent social life and a stellar social committee to make sure everyone is welcome to get involved!

Cons

Pay could be a little better Progression is a bit disorganised

Advice to Management

Make steps for progression more obvious - also make it clear that some job title promotions do not come with respective pay rises!

I've learned a lot in my time here, senior staff are on the whole very approachable
