Pros
Great environment, I feel valued for what I do in my team. Low stress and great range of freedom to carry out the tasks given to me.

Pros
The people! Working for Zonal means working with some of the best people you could meet, as a company we really are all like one big family. Always willing to help each other making the hard work we do here much more fun! You really feel that we are all in this together, working towards the same goal.
Cons
Knowledge sharing has been an issue previously, however this is currently being improved.

Key products making profit. Good working environment
Cons
Company culture has not yet shifted to real agile mindset. Too much support and midnight deployment which can be disrupting for personal life.

Pros
Dev team were experienced and positive Dev team want to build and do the right thing for customers Good atmosphere and banter with the majority of staff Product Director understands the way the company needs to operate in the future Good office space Free breakfast, tea, Coffee and Soft drinks
Cons
Dictator style approach by manager Unrealistic expectations and no support on how to achieve goals sets (setting you up to fail) Belittled in conversations with manager Everything was fine until there is any issue at which point you are thrown under the bus - again by manager Handling of covid was very poor - comms sent to business email that you weren't meant to check while furloughed. Finding out about redundancies via whatsapp from colleagues. No contact from manager during furlough. I am sad that my time with zonal went the way it did as I was really looking forward to working with them - however this became increasingly hard due to the...lets say 'style' of my manager. I was shocked at the degrading attitude my manager showed in order to try and promote /assert themselves within the organisation. Very much a 'I say - you do' attitude which is an embarrassment to themselves and the company given this is meant to be an agile software company. I have no doubt there are many other managers throughout the company that are exceptional - I was obviously just unlucky.
Advice to Management
Please provide dedicated training for line managers on how to conduct themselves and manage staff professionally.
