Bureaucratic and inhumane recruiting system.
There was a gap of one month between the first and the second interview (with no feedback). Recruiter from ASML messed up and didn't send me a confirmation for on-site interview, so I missed it (for me it is a 2 hour drive). They rescheduled for next week.
The second interview consisted of two interviews with a gap of two hours - they made me wait this whole time in the lobby (without any cafeteria or anything).
They were uninspired when talking about the position. "You will be restricted to one small function and you will have to sit behind the computer reading documentation...". After that they had the audacity to reject me with the following words: "Although you did well on technical basis during the interview, the interviewers did not get the impression you were very excited about the job opportunity we offer". What? Can you come up with a reason that is more stupid than that?
The real reason for rejection was listed further down in the email: "In the end, we have decided to hire an internal employee for this position, who benefits from ASML knowledge and experience and safe way of working."
In the end... ASML managed to make the already not-so-pleasant process of job seeking even worse. That's an achievement, congratulations!
