      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines

      Interview

Applied online. Received an online invite to complete the video interview. Always awkward talking to yourself, but easy enough. I next received a call from a recruiter who gave me a date for F2F interview. I was so excited! Drove 4 hours the day prior to get to my destination. The F2F was really informative and fun. Met a lot of great people along the way. Although I didn’t get selected this go-round, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn the process and be prepared for my next interview.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Alaska Airlines (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2014

      Interview

After successfully completing a telephone interview, I was selected to attend a hiring event in Seattle. The first part of the day was a really fun overview of the company by current employees and watching films. The employees were all really friendly, approachable, and engaged in smalltalk with attendees while we checked in. We were broken into groups based on the letter on our name tags (which was presumably at random) and sent to respective rooms with about 25 applicants in each. Chairs were arranged in a horseshoe shape and a table in the open end is where the two evaluators sat. Applicants were first asked to get in order by our last names (probably to see how we worked, communicated, cooperated, and problem solved with others). We then drew questions and were offered the chance to talk the questions over with those around us (again, likely an opportunity to view our demeanor and see how we communicate). After this round of questions, we were asked to say something about ourselves that would not be on a résumé, a 'get-to-know-you-better' question. Each question was answered in front of the room. After this, we took about a 20 minute break and returned to learn who made the cut to go on to the next step. I was not among those selected, unfortunately.
