I submitted an application for a QA Testing Analyst and was quickly followed up with by one of the internal recruiters. They sent me an application questionairre relevant to the job I had applied. I received an interview confirmation with all the correct job information on it. I was to meet with several managers for my interview.
During my interview, I was bombarded with questions not relevant to the job I had applied for. About half way through the interview, I stated that there must have been a miscommunication with HR and that the position they were interviewing me for was not the position for which I had applied. The interviewing managers stated that they wanted to see if I would be a fit for the position.
After the interview, the HR representative called to follow up saying that I was not a fit for the position. I made mention that the interview was not for the Testing Analyst position. They then said something to the degree of, "Well, we just wanted to see if you could do this job."
I had never been so humiliated or under prepared for something in my career. I really didn't know how to fully answer the questions they were asking. Nor would I have applied for the position that they wanted to see if I was a "fit" for because I don't feel that I am adequately suited for the position. This interview was a waste of time for everyone involved.
